Cam Life: An Introduction to Webcam Culture
ew York's Museum of Sex in collaboration with erotic webcam site CAM4 are set to offer an exhibit with a difference - one that promises to lift the lid on the online sex industry.

A new erotic webcam exhibit promises to offer visitors the chance for “audience participation” in an X-rated exhibit. Indeed, the “Cam Life: An Introduction to Webcam Culture” exhibit is a partnership between the New York Museum of Erotica and the erotic webcam site CAM4.
Opened to the public two weeks ago, the exhibit promises to lift the lid on the torrid rise of naughty chat rooms and webcam sex. The exhibition is expected to “delve into the untold history of the webcam and erotic web discussions, and the potential of internet broadcasting to blur the lines between public and private life”, a representative from the museum.
The exhibit features exclusive interviews and content from “pioneers of the erotic internet” as well as original commissioned works by six contemporary artists and an “extensive collection of artifacts chronicling the expansion of sexual expression on the internet,” according to the representative.
The exhibition follows the history of online sex, from the first text chat rooms to explicit one-on-one intimacy via HD video transmission.
