Webcam Model Tips from CAM4: Must Read
Des has been a part of the camily for quite awhile, and having just returned from a 4 month break he has some shining webcam model tips for everyone new and seasoned in the camming world. Through his first year as a webcam model, he learned this the hard way. Which isn’t a bad thing, it’s the best way to learn. It’s brave of him to share this, so take a moment to read it and listen to the man!
I am Des to some but my new profile goes by Darksouls24, I went on a 4 month break and my story will help you understand why taking a break is important.
When I was camming from July – October I was online everyday not only camming but also viewing and moderating. I will admit it’s fun, I’m a proud member of the camily and I’ve made some great friends that had my back. But I am one that doesn’t like to worry people with my own personal problems. Believe me camming (plus viewing and moderating) everyday can take its toll not just psychically however but mentally and psychologically too.
Myself and Des are the same person both on and off cam. I haven’t created a persona, I’m just simply more charismatic and confident on cam than I am off cam. This can cause a few problems – being more well liked in the cam world I started to see myself as Des more so than my actual self, and it started coming to a point where Des was almost being used off cam as well. We all know that unless your friends and family know you’re a cam performer, this can be a serious problem. And thus, a break was needed… but it’s hard to take a break from something like this.
So I vanished and went completely off the radar. Granted I still viewed my friends only as an offline viewer. I didn’t just go cold turkey right away, I just really needed to cut down on the viewing to prevent myself from a dual personality – yes it can happen whilst camming if you don’t give yourself a break.
When you’re a part of an online community like CAM4 you don’t want to leave and it’s difficult to leave. I planned originally to be on a 6 month break and return in March, but I returned two months earlier for starters I missed the cammunity and my friends in it, I missed the intense orgasms that I had and the getting to know people and viewers, not to mention there was an imposter roaming some rooms trying to be me and that wasn’t OK.
So I am back I will be giving myself a break from camming every other week and I won’t be on CAM4 every day of the week but take my advice and learn from the troubles I had.
