Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about you, what brought you to CAM4, and how long you’ve been on the platform.

I am Rhi Connor and my CAM4 profile is GagNGush. To give you a little precis, for those who don’t know who I am, I am a sweet, sassy, southern little mama. I have been on CAM4 for almost two years. What brought me here was when I began exploring my sexuality. I know that’s not necessarily something that you would come here for, but you have to understand that I came from a very sheltered background. When I started exploring my sexuality, I knew that the best place to go would be a platform where I can speak to people, and learn about people. Here I am, two years later, and I probably have the kinkiest bunch of followers on the planet – and I love them!

As a content creator, can you give us an insight into your own experiences of the need to refresh – What does it mean to you?

When you think about the word refresh, it’s all about perspective. For example, when it’s time for me to have a refresh I will take time out. In fact, I actually took this week off, and today is the first day that I have streamed in a week. That was because I needed to have a refresh, which for me is to simply have no work.

When I take time out, there’s no work, I will not allow myself to do it. Based on my personality, which I’m on top of right now, I just keep going and I do not stop until it is all done. I don’t want to have to do it later. If I have to do it late, I get so overwhelmed and feel behind. I live with ADHD, so I need all the help that I can get.

That means taking some time for self-care, taking time to breathe and to do those things that you don’t normally get to do  for yourself. I love to take a bath, that’s one of my refreshers, and I’ll take a couple days out, because I stream almost every single day. When I take that refresher moment, it is for several days, and then I get right back on it again.

When there’s a need to refresh our creative offering, how do you do that?

Firstly, don’t be afraid to watch other people. I have come across many ideas from watching other creators, and it’s not in an effort to copy. It is an effort to transform those ideas into my own. I have to decide how I’m going to use an idea that I have seen someone else do, and make it reflect my personality, as opposed to theirs.

It’s all about creators supporting other creators. If you see a broadcaster in your room, keep on going, don’t assume they’re there to rob your ideas. Sometimes they are there to learn from you – so let them learn. That is one of my biggest tips, because there are always people that know more than you do, and sometimes you need to sit down and listen.

We have to support each other, it is super important. It doesn’t matter what type of creator you are, whether you are an outdoor creator, or you’re on the dark side of creating, or whatever you do, it doesn’t matter. We’re all here for each other. I feel like creators need to take their egos out of the way, and understand that we are a team. If you can learn from someone, you should do that, and if you have something to teach someone, you should do that as well. It’s a community, and we should think of it that way – let’s make it work!

What about refreshing our business strategy, how do you think strategically to refresh your business game?

One of the things that I like to do when I’m refreshing, and I’m watching those other creators, is to take a moment to try to find a new perspective. Whether it’s changing the way my hair looks, maybe doing it a different way, or seeing what I look like with a darker lipstick – you have to try new things. Try these things when you’re not streaming first, and it really doesn’t matter how trivial they seem. You need to constantly redo things, and up your game.

Watch other creators, and look at their room. Find out what they have that’s attracting people, and look at what you can do that’s like that, but is reflective of you. Next, look at what you can wear, and think of the kind of outfit that you want to see yourself in. Remember, although you want to make money, it’s also important that you feel good about yourself. Therefore, when you put on an outfit, or you buy an outfit for the purpose of streaming, don’t buy something because you’ve seen another cam creator wearing it, and you think it would look good on you. Try it on, and if it makes you want to do the ‘Pretty Girl’ walk, then you put that outfit on and get on stream and do your stuff!

How do you feel when you make these changes and switch it up – When you enhance, what do you feel?

I’m very lucky that I have a very strong support team, and I am just one part of GagNGush. Because, on the other side is my tech team, the person that takes care of all of those technical things. So when I’m in that refresher moment, and I can really dig down deep and go through all of those thoughts, I take notes.

My advice is, take lots of notes, have a calendar and have notebooks. Write down every single thing and make sure that you list everything by the day. Write down how many tokens that you made that day, what outfit you were wearing, how long you streamed for, how many people tipped you, etc. Keep calculated notes and keep on top of all of those things.

You need to strategize your life on cam in the same way that you would do with anything else in life, such as coursework, for example. You put calendar dates down for a time that you have a test, or an assignment is due, or anything else that you deem needs to be done on time, so why would you not make the same effort with your job? 

Another thing that’s important is, if you are not in a great mood, if you are not happy, or some negative event has happened in your life, then take the day off. Don’t get on stream, your emotions will probably not be capable of handling it. When people come to see you, you need to be there for them – be on your game. These people depend on you to give them the show they want, and you owe it to them that If you show up, you actually show up!
