Please let us know who you are, how long you’ve been with CAM4, and your experience with the platform so far.

My CAM4 name is RubyLynne. I’m a 56 year old GILF from the Pacific Northwest. I have been with CAM4 for a few months now, but I’ve been a cam model for over three years. I’m so excited to be on the platform interacting with you all, it really is amazing.

We are honing in on the idea of refreshing. Whether it’s refreshing your approach to camming, or refreshing your business strategy. What has been your experience of it in this business?

I’ve done a refresh a couple times, and I really do think that it’s something that’s needed from time to time. As creators, we often get stale, we might get complacent. Therefore, it’s good to shake up our routine, as well as our surroundings, and have a good refresh.

Are you able to identify when there’s a need to refresh, or the potential for burn-out to set in, and how do you differentiate between them?

I know when it’s time for a refresh when I start to get frustrated by what I’m doing. If I’m not having fun, then it’s time for a change. If I dread getting on cam, or I dread going into my dedicated cam space, then I know I need to wipe the slate clean and get a better outlook. If I’m not sure what I need to do, then I need a better mindset. Sometimes that means changing my situation, which may mean changing my stream to another room, such as the kitchen rather than the bedroom. That’s just a simple way to refresh.

Where do you go for inspiration – How do you use your time off tactfully, in order to make a return to creating content that’s more inspired and refreshed?

When I’m at a point where I need to think about something new and refreshing, a lot of times I will usually go to Twitter to see what people are retweeting. I like to understand what they are reposting, what’s getting a lot of engagement. I’m also really fortunate to have a lot of peers in the industry, and I will talk to them to find out what’s working for them right now. We discuss what’s happening, what are they getting the most from, when are they streaming, that kind of thing. I simply use the tools that are available to see what’s going on.

Do you have experience in refreshing your business strategy, and if so, how did that work out for you?

One of the best tools that I’ve utilized lately, is the CAM4 coaching sessions with Vanna Faye. I try to tune in as much as I can, because she does talk a lot about refreshing and what works well for the platform, which has been really helpful. As far as changing business strategy, I keep a spreadsheet, because I’m a numbers girl, so I like to track everything. I track camming times, how people tip, and what to set my tip goals at. I think that’s a helpful way to test the waters, because if we don’t take a chance, we don’t know what’s going to work.

Tell us about how you’ve refreshed your approach to self-promotion and marketing, in order to gain an audience that doesn’t know of you.

I have a couple of different things to help here. Firstly, I have a publicist, which definitely helps. Any time I have a big news story, or I’m changing something, she helps me to promote that. As far as self-promotion, I use Instagram and Twitter, and my fan sites, to let everyone know where I’m going to be. Of course, having a schedule is important, in order to let your viewers know when and where to find you.

Can you tell us a little bit about how this work has refreshed your life, and how you occupy your time in this industry?

I have a unique story, because one year ago I gave up my corporate job. I was a social worker and I had worked in that field for about six and a half years, and before that I was in medical clinical management. Then I got into the triple X world, and I became a cam model back in early 2020, before the pandemic hit. Last year, the camming and content creation income outpaced the social work income, but I was completely burned out, as you can imagine.

That was when I did the biggest refresh of my life. I quit my corporate job and jumped into this business 100%. The main reason was because I wasn’t giving either job the fair amount of time and attention that it needed. Thanks to that refresh, I now find that every day I wake up and realize I’m living my dream life, and I still can’t believe it’s real. The one thing that I do love is interacting with people. I love to be in front of a camera, and every month, every quarter, every year, It just grows and gets better.
