We have been heartbroken by the tragic events that occurred in Orlando, and as a community we want to show our support for the victims of this terrible atrocity.
Similar to a gay club, our goal is to provide a safe haven for performers of all sexual orientations and identities to have fun, express themselves and connect with a community of peers.
When the places that are supposed to be ‘safe’ can still be violated in this day and age, the choice of continuing to ‘live out loud’ becomes even more admirable. We salute our performers who continue to choose to express who they are and pay tribute to all those who are ostracized for expressing their sexuality.
As a business, we have been and continue to be subjected to demands from groups who wish to control our performers and the content they produce, to dictate who is allowed to be themselves on camera. We continue to resist those demands.
We admire and honor the bravery of everyone who dares to stand up and be who they are, online or in the ‘real world’. We pledge to continue to work hard to ensure that everyone on CAM4 has a right to perform in the manner of their choosing. Everyone should have a place to feel safe.
In honor of those who lost their life in Orlando, we are running a charity initiative to raise money for their families and to provide an outlet through which members of our community can show solidarity to one another by spreading a message of tolerance, mutual love and respect for all.
How can I help?
For the remainder of June, all money raised from the sale of our “Peace & Love” gifts will be donated to the OneOrlando fund launched by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to support the Orlando Pulse shooting victims and the Orlando community.
Simply #passthepeace and purchase the gift for someone you care about on the site and CAM4 will accredit the full cost of the gift to the donation pot.
At the end of June, we will total up all the donations made via the “Peace & Love” gift and we will double this figure. The total sum will be donated to the Equality Florida Campaign. Proof of our donation will be made in a follow blog post.
Can’t donate or want to do more?
