Here we learn about the experiences of Grazia Scanavini her in a book, and in her interviews for both Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair.
Eventually her book entitled “I Made the Cam Girl” was published by Effetto, and is widely available in physical and online bookstores. It details the experiences of Grazia Scanavini, a 48 year old journalist and educator from Ferrara. Including two years spent as an italian cam girly, which was merged with her research studies in the field of interpersonal relationships. Those couple of years mean that she REALLY knows what it means to be a webcam girl. Thus giving details, without any filters and in all sincerity, against any stereotype or prejudice. Grazia Scanavini and Cam4 “conquer” the glossy magazines ‘Rolling Stone’ and ‘Vanity Fair’
Cam4 Italia thanks the beautiful and intelligent Grazia, who also ended up on the glossy magazines Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. These two fabulously interesting interviews are by Monica Coviello and Francesca Favotto, and are well worth the read.
Through what seems to be informal and dispassionate chats, she tells of the world of Italian Cam Girls and, more generally, that of “ordinary” people who have decided to become camgirls. This includes an insight into our virtual live sex platforms, and likewise, the world of the users too. Which, despite the myths, is not made up of perverts!

And if in 2021 there are still those who “consider” camming scandalous, she tells of how it is now comparable to a real profession. This is also thanks to the substantial income that can be obtained from being a cam girl. Our dear Grazia Scanavini speaks of her character as a construction secretary, providing all the facts, thus doing “justice” to all of us.
“My goal was to go beyond the bulletin board – I wasn’t doing it for money. At the time I lived in a container because of the 2012 earthquake, and I made up my mind that I was at work in a construction office.”
Emphasizing that Cam4 constantly checks that there are no minors on their ‘Live’ cam feeds, she also reveals who the “classic” users of our platform are.
“They are almost always men, who are in the office and have a great deal of time and money. There are many accountants and lawyers and, among my usual contacts, there was also the rector of a university. It is mostly straight men who also follow male accounts. They do it to explore their bisexual side, to allow themselves a moment of authenticity.”

“Certainly a good feeling was created with someone. Some even “landed” on Facebook or in my real life, but with noone there was nothing more than what was created online!”
Grazia states that you can earn 300/400 euros in a couple of hours and she makes a clear and true identikit of the Italian Cam Girl. To the question – “Among the cam girls, are there more women in difficulty. Forced to perform to make ends meet? or are there those who are aware and serene?” She answers thus…
“They are more serene. They are at home, in safety, where they can transmit at any time of day or night. Also, they can perform from the phone, earning figures that they would never reach with a “normal” job. Sexuality unfortunately, is still the only area in which men willingly accept to pay women well.”
And on Vanity Fair:
“All this or even nothing. Being a Cam Girl can become a profession, which belongs to the world of porn. And one can do it by choice, for fun or even out of necessity. Because she needs to bring home the bread. Of course, it is a reality that exposes you to easy judgment, but when I got close to it, I justset it aside.”
Also on Vanity, she explains how “normality”, being imperfect, attracts most men from the top of the screen.
“I didn’t understand how it was possible that someone wanted to see me, with a body that we could define as non-compliant. I am 180 cm of a woman, with the sixth of a bra and not exactly fresh. While instead, the rooms where girls as beautiful as goddesses performed, were empty. Then I realized that as I built a character, I began to understand how to interact with my audience, and I melted.”
