Selfies are essential to anyone who’s camming. On CAM4 we have regular photo contests where knowing how to take good selfies can win you some tokens, attract new viewers, and show off your… assets. Don’t be shy to snap selfies for your CAM4 profile, photo galleries, or your social media following. But before you do, here’s 6 easy tips on how to take good selfies:
1. Capture a good angle.
Instead of taking the picture head-on, experiment with different angles to show off your features. Know your “good side” and take the photo from that side of your face. It’s the side of your face that looks the most balanced and symmetrical.
2. Show off something new.
If you decide to take a selfie to show off a new haircut or a new tattoo, make sure that you frame the photo in a way that highlights the new feature that has you so excited.
3. Be sure to smile or do something cheerful.
A sad face or a frown will not help ?
4. Take a full-length photo.
If you want to show off a great new outfit or your perfect body, you will need to stand in front of a full-length mirror to capture your body from head to toe. In this instance, your face is no longer the focus of the photo.
5. Pay attention to good lighting.
Having a solid light source is an essential part of taking any kind of photograph, and selfies are no different. If you try to take a selfie in a dimly-lit room or one with harsh fluorescent lighting, it won’t turn out the way you want it to.
6. Edit the photo.
If you have photo editing software, you can also touch up any blemishes or flaws on the selfie before uploading it to a social media account.
This applies to all selfies – even if they’re totally PG or not CAM4-related. Share this to help the community!
