Chat room mods are like works of art. Some people like them, some love ‘em, and some really hate them. Enter Hennessy, one of my favorite camily members for being so positive and helpful on Twitter. Curious little HelloSquirty has brought us the truth about being a chat room mod from Hennessy himself.
If you’re thinking of moderating or enlisting a moderator, read this first to make sure you’re on the right track! This is a really helpful post and we’re grateful to have a mod like Henny here to share the truth with us.
How did you find CAM4?
One day I was bored and I went looking for an interesting chat site. I remembered this one adult site I was on years ago, I had fun and found it intriguing. Yes it was CAM4, but before the improvements and great new features. At first I ended up in few boring rooms and then I stumble upon one interesting one, where the performer was kind, guys were talkative, and I was having fun. Then I decided to come the next day and the day after and the day after that :D. Soon I found more fun and interesting rooms, then I started to make friends and I became a part of this great cammunity and our beautiful Camily :)).
Almost year and a half later, I’m still here. So I guess I liked the chat and the fun that I rediscovered.
Tell me something about yourself . . .
I’m a very social person who likes good company and having fun with the crew. I like to party and dance – I’ve been DJing for over 20 years now. Besides clubs and parties I’ve also worked on a radio station. I play percussion instruments so I can freely say that music is my LIFE. My emotional intelligence is highly developed so I’m a very sexual person, I like beautiful girls, sex, making love, role playing, and fantasies. I’m open minded and not judgemental, so to be in my company, sexual orientation is totally irrelevant. I see people by their character and their behavior not by their orientation of any kind.
How did you become a moderator?
Like everyone else, in the beginning I was only a viewer. Then I noticed mods in the room and their work caught my eye. Soon I started to warn guys who weren’t following CAM4 rules, send funny or sarcastic comments to beggars, trolls and spammers, then I started to advertise and promote my favorite performers and friends (ofc only in their own room and on Twitter, I never spam in other rooms, it would be hypocritical from me if I do 😀 ) and soon after I got my first mod privilege. And after that some other models and friends noticed me and until today I modded over 25 girls, some of them left, some new came and this is the flow that is going around here on CAM4.
The main reason I started to mod was because I didn’t like seeing a good performer get trolled. It ruins the room’s atmosphere! Secondly, this is a way for me to express my support for friends and performers.
How did the idea of the CAM4 Yearbook come up, and why?
The idea of my CAM4 Yearbook came along as another of my ways to support my friends and favorite models and to help them gain more viewers. And also if someone new to CAM4 came across my profile, I’d like to help them find a good room. You never know, maybe one day that new viewer could become a regular to one of the performer’s I moderate. You never know who will stumble upon your profile 😉
How do you pick your Yearbook models?
I have few parameters for my CAM4 Yearbook and they are:
~ Look and personality of the model
~ Is the performer kind, fun, interesting and talkative
~ How fun are their shows and are the regular viewers fun
~ Atmosphere of the room
How was the reaction of the first models on this?
They appreciated my support, some were satisfied, some grateful, some happy and some all of the above! After all, this is free advertising and promotion 😀
Describe your work as a moderator? How do you support your performers?
First and foremost there should be a trust between moderator and the performer. Secondly, as a moderator I always adapt to the model but of course I have my own style too. If the performer likes me she will make me moderator if not she won’t, it is that simple.
Most of the people think being a moderator is basically being a bouncer but I think it’s more like being the entire staff for your performer – the bouncer, bartender, and manager. Yes sometimes you need to remind people of performer rules, in the worst case scenario you’ll have to control beggars, trolls, spammers and excessively rude people. But you also need to help and tell new members how is something done here and help some members who are asking for assistance or advice, you need to be able to tell them how to deal with technical issues or some problems that may occur. And there’s everything else that the performer doesn’t have time to do – checking if big tippers are new members, thanking tippers if performer isn’t able to, tell viewers the rates of private shows if anyone asks. Sometimes you even need to be able to excite the room together with the model in the chat. Last but not least you need to promote your performer in their own room and on Twitter.
As a good moderator, I’ll use this oportunity to promote some of the great performer I moderate! I suggest you to visit them because they’re all great performers and beautiful human beings outside and from within :)).
Chat room mods should also recommend the viewers to rate the performer with 5 stars, add them to their favorites, or subscribe to their schedule.
When a performer has special offers or videos, pictures, panties, Whatsapp etc. for sale, point to the viewers to check for the info in the bio because sadly 80% of the guys NEVER read bios. The 20% who do are those who count 😉
Any advices for performers, why they should team up with a moderator?
In my opinion the performer needs a moderator to be by her/his side to help, support and promote when needed. Advice: never choose a moderator from ones who are asking to be one. Most of those guys are looking for a “power trip” or attention. For a good moderator, choose one of your regulars or friends, who you trust and who you believe that has the potential to be a good mod.
Never choose a big tipper as your moderator because some will use this as an advantage to gain more attention over other tippers, some of them are just “wannabe” mods and some maybe don’t want to be moderators. Also if your chosen moderator asks you something in return to mod you, cut him off because being a moderator is an honor and a privilege by itself, you don’t need anything in return. If you feel that you’ve chosen a wrong guy don’t be afraid to choose another one.
My advice to new performers would be to go to #coachnikki classes at cam4.com/cam4coach_en, you’ll learn a lot on her classes. Password to enter her room is on CAM4Bucks. Coaching info for all languages is on CAM4Bucks.
And what about newbies in modding, which inspiration would you like to spread?
To new moderators I would say as I mentioned before, that being a moderator is an honor, a privilege and a great way to become valid member of our cammunity. If you have it in you to be a good moderator and you want to support our dear performers by all means do it! By doing a good deed and helping, you will feel good plus you’ll meet some good people and maybe even dear friends here in our beautiful camily 🙂
Did you dare and try to broadcast too or you stayed only on viewers side of the cam?
Yes, I ventured to broadcast because I like to try new things but only as a non nude performer so that my friends have one more place where they can come to chill and chat with me and with each other, listen to some good music, having fun and sometimes to play drinking games with me 😀
Do you have anything else to add?
I would invite everyone to get involved in our community either as a performer, moderator, promoter or, viewer. Have fun and enjoy the best webcam site called CAM4 🙂
