What is bondage?
Bondage is a subset of BDSM. It involves the consensual tying or retention of a partner for erotic, aesthetic and/or somatosensory stimulation, i.e. anything that involves pressure, touch, pain or temperature.
Bondage is a consensual act between 2 or more people and is intended to be fun for everyone involved by testing their own limits. Bondage requires a lot of trust.
The best tips for getting started with bondage
#1: Don’t try strangers
First things first: Experts recommend that you don’t have your first bondage experience with a stranger. It’s probably easier to find someone on a sex platform for bondage, but the trust is lacking.
If you are a beginner and have not yet had any experience with shackles, bondage or sado-maso, we advise against it. Instead, you can get your partner on board and take it slow.
#2: Use your body
You don’t know all the different knots to tie up yet? This is no problem at all, as bondage beginners can also easily work with their bodies at the beginning.
The male partners can also easily hold the hands of their partner to get started.
The feeling of helplessness during sex, which results from the firm grip of the partner, is an ideal first impression of bondage. And if you both like it, you might want to try even more!
#3: Blindfold your partner
Preventing one of the senses increases the sensitivity of the rest of the senses. Try tying a scarf around your partner’s eyes to limit the sense of sight.
If you are very adventurous, you could wrap your head in a pillowcase instead. In addition, you could still use earplugs, which will make every touch even more intense.
Take the time to slowly touch your partner with various objects, such as feathers or ice cubes. Put her/him on the torture a bit, that’s also part of it!
#4: Be careful with handcuffs
While handcuffs may seem like a simple and delicate bondage accessory at first glance, they can lead to a bad ending if used without sufficient BDSM experience.
Make sure they’re not too tight and never let your partner’s body weight hang on them, as the sharp edges of the handcuffs could cut off blood circulation to the hands.
#5: No rope? No problem!
If you don’t have a rope, don’t worry! You probably have countless bondage accessories lying around at home that you have never thought of in this way before.
Use a thin scarf or a tie in order to tie your partner to the bed and explore their sensitive areas.
#6: Communicate with each other
The most important thing for bondage beginners is communication! Ask each other how you are experimenting, make sure that none of the bound limbs have fallen asleep.
If you take special care of each other during the first steps to bondage, the chances are better that you will enjoy it for a long time.
