Our Recap of AIDS Walk NY!
On May 20th, CAM4 had the honour of co-sponsoring the annual AIDS Walk New York, the largest single-day AIDS fundraising event in the world! The event has inspired nearly 890,000 people to walk and millions more to donate, raising nearly $150 million to combat HIV and AIDS. This year, the event raised $4.4 million for Gay Men’s Health Crisis, which will goes towards essential services provided by GMHC and other HIV/AIDS organizations in the NY area, which includes housing, food, access to medical care and more.
Over 20,000 people attended the event in Central Park, which featured a 10 km walk around the park. Over 100,000 people in the New York tristate area are believed to be living with HIV/AIDS, yet one in five are not aware that they have the virus.
On Sunday, thousands from the tri-state area came together to show their support for those living with HIV/AIDS. #AIDSWalkNY pic.twitter.com/5QB5T2DJFe

Speaking of RuPaul’s Drag Race, how fantastic was Alexis Michelle?! Not only did we get an interview with the famous RuPaul All-Stars contestant, the queen hosted the Aids Walk post show and brought out her favourite Drag Race friends to show their support for this amazing cause. SHANTAY YOU STAY, QWUEENS!

One of our favourite couples of the event, Nico Tortorella and Bethany Meyers, made us laugh and cry at their post show with Alexis Michelle!

We were so excited and honoured to be surrounded with so many amazing celebrity and participants from around the world. The speeches from those who have been affected by AIDS were so moving and awe-inspiring. As a community that supports sexual openness, freedom and equality, CAM4 hopes that we can continue to attend this event for more years to come!
