Twitter 101
Whether you like it or not the world is on twitter…and so are your new fans. I am going to share with you my favorite quote because like you, I was a model looking for new fans and I was not using social media to its fullest.
The Basics
Twitter is a platform where you can speak or “tweet” to anyone else who is on twitter. These are the fundamentals of the twitterverse…
Tweet – A message you send to your followers, it will show up in their home feed.
Re-Tweet – A tweet by another user you repost so that will be seen by all of your followers as well. Having people re-tweet your tweets is the fastest way to get followers.
Follow – to follow people you visit their profile and click the ‘follow’ button, then you will see their tweets and re-tweets in your twitter home feed.
Followers – this is the same as people you have followed, they see your tweets and re-tweets in their home feed.
@ – Signifies a persons username or ‘handle’ on twitter. If you want to tweet to someone you would include his or her twitter handle in your tweet, then it will show up in their notifications tab.
# – ‘hashtag’ is a search tool, when you put this in front of a word it will pull up your tweet when that ‘hashtag’ is searched by other users. You can simply click on a # word in a tweet to pull up all tweets with that #.
DM – is a ‘Direct message’ to another user. These messages are private and can only be seen by the person you send it too; you both have to be following each other to be able to send a ‘DM’.
How to build your following
The more followers the better but it isn’t as easy as you think to get attention on twitter. Here are a few tips to increasing your audience…
Connect your twitter to CAM4 – We will tweet all your scheduled shows for you and again after you have been performing for 5 min. You can also tweet from your broadcast window, we even include your URL link and the #cam4 for you.
Put your CAM4 profile link in your Bio – This will let people know what site you are on and how they can find you. This is also valuable because your profile name and your twitter handle are rarely exactly the same.
18+ – including this in both your bio and profile name will make it easy for adult content lovers to find you.
Re-Tweet things that are about you – if someone tweets to you or about you re-tweet it so all your followers see what others are saying about you.
Reply to public tweets – When you reply to tweets there is a greater chance it will be re-tweeted. This means all of the re-tweeters followers will see your tweet and may follow you too.
Use # – this makes your tweet easy to find for users looking for performers like you. Some very popular #’s are: #cock, #girlswithtattoos, #hottie, #assalert, #girlswithglasses, #pussy, #thongthursday, #asswednesday, #titsouttuesday, #tittietuesday, #friskyfriday, #masturbationmonday, #horny, #gay, #RT, #FF, #ff
